Vietnam E-Visas for All Nationalities

Vietnam E-Visas: Simplifying Travel for All Visitors

Beginning on August 15, 2023, Vietnam has introduced a new electronic visa (e-visa) system for all nationalities. The Vietnam e-visas allow travellers to stay for up to 90 days and make multiple entries during their visit. Additionally, citizens of specific countries will receive the privilege of visa exemption, allowing them to explore Vietnam for an extended period of up to 45 days.

Vietnam now offers e-visas to citizens of all countries and territories entering from August 15, following a government resolution. Previously, Vietnam granted 30-day single-entry e-visas to citizens of 80 countries. The new e-visa, issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department via the electronic system, allows multiple entries within 90 days, providing enhanced convenience for exploring the country.

Reliable sources like VnExpress report a well-planned network of entry and exit points for seamless use of Vietnam E-visas. This includes 13 major international airports, 16 accessible land border crossings, and 13 convenient sea border crossings, catering to travellers embracing this innovative system.

For Air Travelling

This network encompasses 13 international airports that facilitate entry and exit via Vietnam E-visas. These airports include well-known ones like Noi Bai, Tan Son Nhat, Cam Pha, Da Nang, Cat Bi, Can Tho, Phu Quoc, Phu Bai, Van Don, Tho Xuan, Dong Hoi, Phu Cat, and Lien Khuong. For travellers arriving by air, the convenience of the E-visa system starts right at these airports.

For Land Travelling

Land travellers are also well-served by the E-visa system, with 16 designated border gates catering to their entry and exit. These include Tay Trang (Dien Bien Province), Mong Cai (Quang Ninh), Huu Nghi (Lang Son), Lao Cai, Na Meo (Thanh Hoa), Nam Can (Nghe An), Cau Treo (Ha Tinh), Cha Lo (Quang Binh), La Lay, Lao Bao (Quang Tri), Bo Y (Kon Tum), Moc Bai, Xa Mat (Tay Ninh), Tinh Bien, Vinh Xuong (An Giang), and Ha Tien (Kien Giang). The convenience of E-visas extends to these border crossings, making land travel hassle-free.

For Sea Travelling

Seamless sea travel is facilitated by 13 designated sea border gates. These include ports like Hon Gai and Cam Pha (Quang Ninh), Hai Phong, Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa), Vung Ang (Ha Tinh), Chan May (Thua Thien Hue), Da Nang, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Dung Quat (Quang Ngai), Vung Tau (Ba Ria Vung Tau), HCMC, and Duong Dong (Kien Giang). Sea travellers can embark and disembark with ease using the Vietnam E-visa system.

Vietnam Extends Visa-free Stay

On Monday, the government also announced the extension of the stay duration in Vietnam from 15 to 45 days for citizens of 13 countries who receive unilateral visa exemptions from Vietnam.

These nations include Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the U.K., Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Belarus. Individuals from these countries can now stay for up to 45 days from their entry date, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry.

Why Apply for Vietnam E-visas

Obtaining a Vietnam E-visa online is a highly convenient and efficient approach to securing an entry permit. In contrast to the potential challenges of obtaining a visa on arrival, an E-visa offers a smoother and more efficient process. By choosing an E-visa, you can bypass potential airport stress and check-in delays, ensuring a seamless start to your journey.

How to Apply for Vietnam E-visas

For non-citizens of Vietnam, applying for a Vietnam E-visa is conveniently done through the e-visa web portal of the Vietnam Immigration Department. Accurate provision of crucial trip details is essential for a successful application, including entry date, duration of stay, chosen ports of entry and departure, and temporary residential address in Vietnam.

When completing the e-visa request section, foreign applicants must choose between a single-entry or multiple-entry visa based on their trip’s purpose. Information from the passport’s data page and accompanying passport photo uploads are required.

After submission, applicants are prompted to pay a processing fee of US$25 for the single-entry visa. Once you receive the electronic dossier code from the immigration authority, this unique code lets you monitor your Vietnam E-visa application status on the dedicated web portal.

The processing time for e-visa issuance is approximately three working days. To access the electronic visa and print it, visit the following link: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/tra-cuu-thi-thuc.
