How to apply for a Vietnam E-visa

While it is possible to obtain a visa on arrival – with added effort from the applicant and potential additional costs – an E-visa offers a more favourable solution for travellers valuing their time and seeking to avoid unforeseen expenses. Before applying for a Vietnam e-visa, please ensure that you are well-prepared with the following:

• Your original passport, which should be valid for at least 6 months following your arrival date.
• Your original passport should have a minimum of 2 blank pages for the Vietnam visa sticker and immigration stamps.
• A scan of the passport information page (soft file).
• A scan of a passport-style photo (both hard and soft files).
• Payment cards that can be used online (credit or debit cards, etc.).

Make sure to save the Verification Code, as you will need it to check your Vietnam e-visa status and to download your Vietnam e-visa letter. Note that the system won’t send an email with this code; you need to obtain it yourself.

Next, proceed to make the processing fee payment. The fee is USD 25 and is non-refundable, regardless of whether your e-visa application is approved or not.

Step 3: Check the result of your Vietnam e-visa application

After 3 working days, visit the link to check if your e-visa application has been approved. If it is approved, download, and print the e-visa letter to present at immigration customs.
