Day 1
Arrive Pakse & Travel to Khong Island
Upon arrival at Pakse Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our local driver and Laotian guide and make your way to Khong Island. Visit Khone Phapheng Waterfall that sits at the southern tip of Laos, in an area called Si Phan Don, which literally translates to “Four thousand islands”. At this point, the Mekong River broadens out, during the rainy season the river and series of cascades are kilometres wide and extend over a length of almost 10 km downstream. Upon arrival at Khong Island, you will be transferred to your hotel and checked in.

Day 2
Explore Si Phan Don (4000 Islands)
The tiny islands of Don Khone and Don Deth are your destination today. Board your boat and cruise along the backwaters to explore Si Phan Don (4000 Islands). Take time to admire the surrounding islands of Don Khone and Don Det and the traditional lifestyle of the fishermen. Visit the old French villas, narrow-gauge railway and French railway bridge that was constructed during World War II. Stroll along the packed dirt footpaths and palm-fringed villages and enjoy the serenity of an Asia lost in time. Visit the impressive Lippi falls, on the west of Don Khone, very close to the Cambodian border. This is a perfect place to take your time and soak in the view. Then you will return to the mainland and make a short transfer back to the hotel.

Day 3
Road Travel to Champasak & Wat Phou Temple
Head to the charming town of Champasak today to visit the ancient ruins of Wat Phou. Explore these intriguing Khmer ruins, which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao. Wat Phou is one of the Lao World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 2001, this wonderful archaeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 5th century, predating the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia. After exploring the site, check into the hotel along the banks of the Mekong River.

Day 3
Explore Bolaven Platau & Tadlo Watter Fall
Today you will discover the highlights of the Bolaven Plateau, famous for its agricultural products and coffee and tea plantations. The plateau has a number of tribal villages, some of which still practice their ancient culture. Villagers can often be seen using primitive tools and conducting spiritual ceremonies. You will make a stopover en route to observe the locals making tea and coffee. Upon arrival at Tad Lo waterfall, visit the villages of Alak, Nge, Katu, populated by ethnic minority groups. Before arriving back at Pakse, stop at Paksong, see the impressive Tad Fane waterfalls, and visit a tea and coffee plantation.

Day 4
Transfer to Pakse for Departure
Depending on your departure time, you may explore the beautiful surroundings at your leisure. You will be driven to Pakse airport for your flight to your next destination.
